Zarh Myron Bickford was one of the foremost mandolin players, composers and teachers of his time, and is best known for authoring The Bickford Mandolin Method, a four-volume collection considered one of the finest to come from an American author.
Married in 1915 to the prominent guitar player Vadah Olcott-Bickford (born Ethel Lucretia Olcott), they often performed together. Both shared an interest in astrology and the names Vahdah and Zarh reflect this interest.
Zarh Myron Bickford war einer der bedeutendsten Mandolinenspieler, Komponisten und Lehrer seiner Zeit und ist vor allem als Verfasser der „Bickford Mandolin Method“ bekannt, einer vierbändigen Sammlung, die als eine der besten Werke eines amerikanischen Autors gilt.
Er heiratete 1915 die bekannte Gitarristin Vadah Olcott-Bickford (geb. Ethel Lucretia Olcott), mit der er oft gemeinsam auftrat. Beide teilten ein Interesse an Astrologie, was sich auch in den Namen Vahdah und Zarh widerspiegelt.
